TopJunior Lifeguard

The five day Junior Academy program is designed for boys and girls 11-15 years of age. Participants will receive a foundation of knowledge including:

Academies meet Monday-Friday from 9:00 am to 5:15 pm. Students must bring nutritious snacks, lunch, water bottle and all study materials daily. Junior lifeguard and junior swim instructor students must wear solid red one piece swim suit or swim trunks.

NOTE: Junior Lifeguard students who have successfully completed the first year of Junior Lifeguard Academy training will be invited to register for advanced academy training sessions.

Fee: $150 includes training materials, swimming lessons, t-shirt, hat and whistle for work experience. Location to be announced.

TopJunior Swim Instructor

The five day program is designed for participants 14-15 years of age and must gain work experience from a minimum of one 2-week swim session. In this class, participants will receive first hand experience teaching swim lessons.

Geared at preparing students for future job opportunities as a Water Safety Instructor.

Summer Adventures Junior Counselor Training

Ages 13 to 18

Summer Adventures Junior Counselor training is a service learning program for teens that enjoy helping children learn and have fun in a safe environment. The program offers fun, interactive workshops, games and activities designed to prepare teens to volunteer and/or work in a camp environment. The training will include First Aide/CPR, and Basic Water Rescue. Training also may include child development, safety, conflict resolution, body language, planning and leading games, therapeutic recreation awareness and job interview skills. Participants will have opportunities to plan activities and practice their new skills with campers in Summer Adventures. Summer Adventures staff will provide instruction, support, supervision and feedback to help participants have a positive experience. The program fee includes training, training materials, certification, t-shirt and ID lanyard. No prior experience or training is necessary. Upon completion, interested participants will be given the opportunity to interview for placement as a volunteer in our Summer Adventures Program.
