Bruce Davidson - Redding City Hall
Bruce Davidson paints in the tradition of the California School of Impressionists who were devoted to its diverse variety of landscapes and seascapes. Since moving to the north state seven years ago, Bruce has enjoyed painting en plein air to better capture the spirit of our many natural wonders.
Mike Eichwald - Redding City Hall
Mike Eichwald was first exposed to film photography while a student in Europe. Now retired from the practice of dermatology, in addition to using traditional film he pursues the boundless potential of the digital camera and computerized editing. Mike is motivated primarily by the desire to celebrate photographically the fortuitous beauty of our everyday surroundings and experiences.
Enterprise High School - Redding City Hall
This exhibit is a glimpse of the artist as a young person on the brink of discovering who they are and what they want to do. Many of them are just beginning to understand that art is a key to their identity. These works are by students who have spent the last three to four years in Enterprise High School art classes. Some are preparing their portfolios for Advanced Placement standing at colleges.
Dan Ferrarese - Redding Library
Technology has opened up new opportunities for photographers. It has liberated us from the darkroom and given us the same freedom of expression as painters. We can now significantly change shapes and colors and combine several images into one. Gene's favorites are panoramas, composites and infrared black & whites.
Nadia Hava-Robbins - Redding City Hall
Nadia Hava-Robbins, MA, born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, was immersed in an artistic milieu since childhood. She considers herself a lifelong student of the arts, and believes the process of creating to be an integral part of life. Her multi-dimensional mixed media compositions are best described as "post-modern/contemporary abstract art".
Dennis Schroeder - Redding City Hall
Dennis Schroeder is a fulltime wood carver specializing in bird carvings. He has competed in national competitions and twice won the title of "World Champion." Dennis now judges many of these carving competitions and was recently invited to judge the prestigious Federal Duck Stamp art competition in Washington, D.C. Dennis and his wife Carolyn live in Junction City, California.
Evelyn Mercer Ward - Redding City Hall
Although she has a master's degree in art, Evelyn Mercer Ward is primarily a self-taught watercolorist. Twelve years ago, in the midst of a busy family and career life, she realized something was missing . . . creative expression. Living in beautiful Trinity County, she combines her love of the outdoors with her love of color. As a teacher of watercolor, Evelyn encourages us all to pursue our own creative journeys in whatever medium or style moves us. Therein lies the joy of life.
Malcolm Wilson - Redding Library
Malcolm Wilson had drawn most of his life, usually portraits and figures but upon retirement took up oil painting. Since 1998 he has concentrated on landscapes and portraits. Malcolm's work is exhibited in local shows and several private collections.
A Window Between Worlds - City Hall
A Window Between Worlds (AWBW) is dedicated to using art as a healing tool to help end domestic violence. AWBW works with the Shasta Women's Refuge by providing art workshops in their shelter to help women develop a renewed sense of hope and possibility that profoundly impacts future decisions regarding the direction of their lives.
