Recycling or Disposal Information

After finding dozens of televisions, sofas, washing machines, etc in our local streams, the Community Creek Clean-up Action Group decided to provide information on disposal of these items.

These large items have a tremendous negative impact on our creeks, delivering toxins that may not be easily detected or remedied. Once water-logged, the items become much more difficult to remove and tougher to recycle. So, what are your options?

(The options below are available to all residents of Shasta County, not just residents of Redding.)

Appliances, Furniture, Etc.

Furniture, appliances and other items that have reached the end of their useable lives must be properly disposed of, and many items can be easily recycled right here in Redding at the City's Solid Waste Transfer Station located on the East side of Redding at 2255 Abernathy Lane [MAP].
