Job Credits Program
|
The City of Redding understands the importance of assisting with the expansion of primary industries. Therefore, in 2004 the Redding City Council approved an "Industrial Development Incentive Policy" that includes a "Jobs Credit" program. Primary industries, such as manufacturing, can take advantage of this program if they are building a new building or retrofitting an existing building. The program is designed for companies that are creating 10 or more jobs and provides a "credit" for those jobs that can be used to reduce development fees associated with the new facility.
The idea behind this program is for the City to help lower the up-front costs of the development as an investment in primary industry employment.

| Shasta Metro Enterprise Zone |
The City of Redding, in cooperation with the County of Shasta and the Cities of Anderson and Shasta Lake, successfully competed throughout California to receive a new Enterprise Zone Designation--the Shasta Metro Enterprise Zone. By working together cooperatively, this Redding area enterprise zone is one of the largest in California and includes almost all commercial and industrial zoned parcels along the I-5 corridor.
The following link will provide you detailed Shasta Metro Enterprise Zone information, which is coordinated for our local governments by the Economic Development Corporation of Shasta County.
