RIGHT-OF-WAY
MAINTENANCE
The purpose of this program is to maintain optimum
sight distance for motorists, as well as, maintaining
an aesthetically appealing right-of-way appearance
throughout our community. This
requires the proper management of routine pesticide
spraying on arterial, collector and residential streets
within the community; the proper removal of noxious
weeds; and, the pruning or removal of overgrown shrubs
and tree branches.
Staff systematically conducts windshield surveys of
roadways throughout the year to identify areas in
need of attention. To ensure proper eradication of
weeds or other roadside vegetation, the Street Division
staff receives environment and application training
on an annual basis and is required to follow the Department
of Agriculture Rules and Regulations while applying
herbicides. If you notice an area where weeds, grasses,
shrubs or low hanging tree branches impede your view
as a motorist, please contact us using the service
request form.
