SIDEWALKS

There is a vast sidewalk system located within the City of Redding. Sidewalk maintenance which includes repair of all raised, cracked and broken sidewalks located within City right-of-way, is accomplished by the City's Street Division personnel. The repairs are completed on an "as needed" basis.

Upon observation by Street Division personnel or notification by a citizen of an irregularity, the specific location is inspected and, if repair is warranted, the location is immediately painted fluorescent orange to alert pedestrians to the irregularity. As soon as possible, the irregularity is either temporarily or permanently repaired.

As funds become available, an annual sidewalk repair project is contracted out by the City's Engineering Division to permanently repair as many locations as possible.

So, whenever you see an irregularity, please send us a service request. Remember the sooner the irregularity is brought to our attention the sooner it can be schedule for repair!
